The Boy Who Cried Wolf

There was a boy who lived with his parents in a village on the hillside. His parents, like most of the other people in the village, were sheep farmers. Everybody in the village took turns to look after the sheep, and when the boy was 10 years old, he was considered old enough to take his turn at shepherding.
But, the boy was too easily bored, and he found it very tiresome being on the hillside with only sheep for company. So he’d find ways to amuse himself, running up rocks, climbing trees, chasing sheep, but nothing really kept him amused for very long. Then he hit upon a brilliant idea. He climbed to the top of the tallest tree, and started shouting towards the village: “Wolf! Wolf! Wooolf! Woohoolf!”
One of the villagers heard him, and got all the other men together, and armed with axes, hoes and forks, they ran out of the village to chase away the wolf and save their herd. Of course when they got there, they merely found the shepherd boy perched high up in his tree, laughing, and the sheep grazing peacefully. They were very annoyed with him. That night, the shepherd boy got a spanking from his mother and was sent to bed without any supper.
For a while life went on again as normal, and people forgot about the incident. The shepherd boy managed to behave himself whenever it was his turn to mind the sheep. Until one day, he got really bored again. He picked up some sticks, and running through where the sheep were grazing, he started hitting the sticks together, and shouting: “Wolf! Wolf! Wooolf! Woohoolf! Woohoohoooolf!”
Sure enough, somebody in the village heard and before long the men all come running up the hill armed with their sticks and axes and hoes and shovels, ready to chase away the big bad wolf, and save their sheep and the poor shepherd boy. Imagine their consternation when they arrived in the field to see their herd grazing peacefully, and the boy sitting on a big rock, laughing uncontrollably.
That night, the shepherd boy got a good telling off, an even better spanking from his mother, and was again sent to bed without any supper. For a few days people in the village went around moaning about the shepherd and his tricks, but before long things settled down again, and life resumed its normal uneventful course, and the boy had to do his turn at shepherding again every now and then. He decided he should behave himself, he really didn’t want to upset everybody all the time, and he especially didn’t want another one of his mother’s spankings!
Then, one afternoon when the shepherd was in the fields with the sheep, he noticed some of them were getting nervous, they started bleating and running hither and thither. He didn’t know what was the cause of this strange behaviour, sheep were running all over and making an ever louder racket. He got worried and decided to climb a tree so he could see what was going on. He balanced on a sturdy branch and looked around, what he saw almost made him fall out of the tree. There was a great big hairy wolf, chasing the sheep, biting at their legs, snapping at their tails. For a few seconds that boy was speechless. Then he started shouting: “Woolf! Woolof! Woohoohooloof!”
In the village an old man heard the shouting. “Oh no, not that boy again”, he said, shaking his head. “What’s going on?” inquired another villager. “It’s that shepherd boy again, he just can’t help himself”.
“That boy needs to be the centre of attention all the time”, said another. “Wait till his mother gets a hold of him”, added yet another. Nobody believed that this time there really was a wolf, and nobody got their hoe out, or their axe, or their shovel. All the sticks were left in the sheds and nobody rushed up the hillside. It wasn’t until very much later that afternoon, that the boy sent to take over the shepherding from the shepherd boy found dead sheep’s bodies strewn all over the hillside, and the shepherd boy still up there in his tree, whimpering, that the villagers found out there really had been a wolf this time.
At last the shepherd boy learnt his lesson, that if you always tell lies, people will eventually stop believing you; and then when you’re telling the truth for a change, when you really need them to believe you, they won’t.

Flamingo
Flamingos /fləˈmɪŋɡoÊŠz/ are type of wading bird in the family Phoenicopteridae, the only family in the order Phoenicopteriformes. They are famous for their bright pink feathers, stilt-like legs, and S-shaped neck. The word "flamingo" comes from the Spanish and Latin word "flamenco" which means fire, and refers to the bright color of the birds' feathers. Not all flamingos are brightly colored, however, and some of the birds are mostly gray or white. The strength of a flamingo's coloration comes from its diet.

Species
American Flamingo
There are six distinct species of flamingo, but it takes a trained eye to distinguish them. Even though there are only six species of flamingos in the world, birders and non-birders alike can instantly recognize these flamboyant birds. These distinctive wading bird are some of the most unique in the world, though each species has its own special characteristics.
American (Caribbean) Flamingo (Phoenicopterus ruber)
Andean Flamingo (Phoenicoparrus andinus)
Chilean Flamingo (Phoenicopterus chilensis)
Greater Flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus)
Lesser Flamingo (Phoeniconaias minor)
Andean Flamingo
Puna (James's) Flamingo (Phoenicoparrus jamesi)
Lesser Flamingo
Chilean Flamingo
Greater Flamingo
James's Flamingo

Behavior

Flamingos are strong but rare swimmers and powerful fliers, even though they're most often seen just wading. Flamingos do fly very well, however, and many flamingos migrate or regularly fly between the best food sources and nesting grounds.

When flying in a flock, the top speed of a flamingo can be as high as 35 miles per hour. They can seem ungainly or clumsy in flight, however, because their long necks stretch out in front of their bodies and their long legs dangle well past their short tails.

Flamingos hold their bills upside down while feeding, often for several hours a day, so they can filter out their food while skimming the water. They may seem to nibble or scoop at the surface of the water as they strain out small bits of algae, insects, brine shrimp and other food material.

A flamingo chick's bill is small and straight, without any distinct color patches. After a few months, their growing bills will develop the distinct "break" curve and they will be eating mostly on their own.

Flamingos are monogamous birds that lay only a single egg each year. If that egg is lost or damaged, they do not typically lay a replacement. If a flamingo colony is ransacked by predators or hit with a natural disaster, it can take several years for the birds to recover and for their population to grow again.

Parent flamingos feed their chicks exclusively crop milk for 5-12 days after hatching, though young flamingos may continue to eat crop milk for up to two months as their bills develop. This high fat, high protein substance is not like mammalian milk, but is excellent nutrition for growing chicks. Parent flamingos produce crop milk in their digestive tracts and regurgitate it to feed their young.

Flamingo chicks are born gray or white and take up to three years to reach their mature pink, orange or red plumage. Their young feathers are much less structured and fluffy than adult plumage, but that down provides excellent insulation to help keep baby flamingos warm.

Flamingos have a wild lifespan of 20-30 years, but in captivity have been recorded as living up to 50 years or longer. Captive flamingos typically live longer because they are not subject to predators, poachers or other threats, and they receive excellent veterinary care and abundant food.

Appereance
The pink or reddish color of flamingos comes from carotenoids in their diet of animal and plant plankton. These carotenoids are broken down into pigments by liver enzymes. The source of this varies by species, and affects the saturation of color. Flamingos whose sole diet is blue-green algae are darker in color compared to those who get it second hand (e.g. from animals that have digested blue-green algae).

Where to find
Chilean, Andean and James' flamingos live in South America, and the greater and lesser flamingos live in Africa. Greater flamingos can also be found in the Middle East and India. Flamingos are water birds, so they live in and around lagoons or lakes. These bodies of water tend to be saline or alkaline

Feeding
Flamingos filter-feed on brine shrimp and blue-green algae. Their beaks are specially adapted to separate mud and silt from the food they eat, and are uniquely used upside-down. The filtering of food items is assisted by hairy structures called lamellae which line the mandibles, and the large rough-surfaced tongue.

Hello bloggers! This time I wanna tell about you about Jakarta's icon, National Monument or what we usually call "Monas".

As you know, Monas is the icon of the capital city of Indonesia, Jakarta. It is located in the middle of the Merdeka Square, Center Jakarta. Monas is built to commemorate the struggle for Indonesian Independence.

Monas began the construction in August 1959 under the direction of President Soekarno. The overall building is designed by some architects, Sudarsono, Frederich Silaban and Ir. Rooseno. On August 17, 1961, the monument was inaugurated by President Soekarno and opened to the public since July 12, 1975.

Monas is 132 meters tall and yoni phallus-shaped. The entire building is covered by marble.

MEGANTARA!!

Hello!
I'm back with the lately event held by my school, the best event I've ever came, the coolest cultural festival I've ever visited, MEGANTARA!

MEGANTARA's poster
MEGANTARA is an anual festival held by SMA Negeri 3 Bandung. It is not a concert which people usually go for dancing or do the things that are just like what west people do, but this is a festival that held for conserving the culture of Indonesia. Applause!

This festival was held last 10th of September,2016, in Bali Field. Have you seen the poster? YAAAA it invited RAN and The Changcuters as the guest guys could you imagine how exciting the event was? Ok thanks to the comittee ily<3

So, I wanna tell you what happened that thay from my viewpoint.

I went there by 7 AM. The first graders who were not joining as the comittee were told to do a parade. We wore kebaya and boys wore pangsi. We walked around the area of the field wih the cutie pies children from some playgrounds led us at the front and some comittees helped to tidy up the line. But the parade's route was quite far and pretty tiring because I had all my face sweating, haha.

guess which one is meeh

After we arrived at the Bali Field, we went to Daffa's house near the field. His mother was really really nice. She gave us some foods and drinks and we enjoyed it and ate all the foods so thank you and sorry Daffa's mom hehe. Then we went to school. At first, we planned to go to BIP or somewhere else where we could spend the time before we went to the Bali Field but we just ended eating siomay at the front of our school, haha.

Then we went to the mosque to prayed and took some rest. The gate was opened at 11.35 am but we wanted to come late so me and my sister (ok I invited my sister to come to MEGANTARA aren't I a good sister) had some talks in the school and we were wi-fi-ing and the others stayed at the mosque (I didn't know what were they doing there) while we were waiting until 2 pm.

We came to Bali Field at about 2pm and the venue wasn't that crowded. There was such an aisle as a path for we enter the field and for me it was cool. The first things I saw when I entered the field were FOOD STANDS! There were lots os stands of traditional foods. There were some traditional game stands too. The people weren't coming yet when we came there so me and my sister decided to eat mi ayam (the most affordable food at that time) eventhough the weather was so hot.

After fulfilled the energy with the precious mi ayam, we went to the stage. The audiences were not that much so the performances got me bored, IM SO SORRY. Then we decided to go to mushola. Then we went to the stage but we bought some drinks first. The line was so long and it took pretty much time.

While we were waiting for the drinks, it was announced that the fashion show competition would be started in a minute. That was the one of the most anticipated shows for me because there were 3 friends of my class as representatives for 3 provinces of Indonesia. Tasya wore the traditional cloths of Lampung, Salfia wore the Sumatera Selatan's, and Hafizh wore the Papua Barat's (Hilmy should've done this not Hafizh haha poor him). And guess what? OUR CLASS WON!!! Thank's to Hafizh yee we <3 u.
It was Tasya

It was Salfia

HERE'S THE LORD OF PAPUA BARAT
For me, the most unbelievable moment was when the winner of the fashion show was announded by tha mayor of Bandung City, RIDWAN KAMIL!!

It was 6 pm after Ridwan Kamil announced the fashion show's winner so we went praying and took some rest. Then, MEGANTARA had come to a pre-climax when T'sT came up the stage. Everyone fulfilled the audience's field. It was so crowded because I stood in the middle of people. And, the performance of T'sT was sooooo amazing. They performed "Bring Our Fu*kin Culture Back".
Thay have succesfully made people laugh with their own ways to joke and for me it was really really fantastic.

The next performer was USD from ITB. They performed songs of pop added with dangdut. You could feel it if you were there that people didn't get interested with the performance because I did know that they were tired and they had waiting so long for the main guest came up the stage (you know who them are) so people just watched and applaused and were not enjoying the performance. (It was exactly me IM SO SORRY)

say hello this is USD ITB

Then. The most awaited main guest. They finally came up the stage. THE CHANGCUTERS!!! The atmosphere there changed 180 degree when they appeared. People couldn't hold screaming when they showed up. THEY WERE SO HANDSOME EVENTHOUGH I SAW THEM FROM FAR. They had succesfully made people gone mad because of their crazy performances. They were the reason why you had to come to MEGANTARA people I bet you are dissaponted if you are for not coming:). After about an hour they ended their performances with a lot of memories from the people.

TRIA!

The next performer was SPH Tari Colaboration. People were getting tired so they just sat and didn't pay much attention to them, and so did I, IM SO SORRY :(.

Then. The last main guest. The another most awaited star. RAN!!! The romantic feels could be felt when they showed up one by one and we couldn't stop screaming because they were so handsome omg *crying*. They just made all the girls melting with their songs. And this one cannot be forgotten. They asked a single girl from our school to get on the stage and luckly SHE GOT SUNG BY THEM ON FACE AND SHE GOT HOLD BY THEM AND SHO GOT HUGGED BY THEM and the audience went crazy with that, haha. Then they closed this MEGANTARA with their song 'dekat di hati' and boom the shocking thing (I don't know the name) just said a goodbye for RAN and for the audience.

hello handsomes

So, MEGANTARA ended succesfully. It was so memorable. Hopefully next year will be more exciting than this year. So see you next year!<3
